Gabriel Maia is a Brazilian contemporary guitarist, composer, and dedicated music educator based in Boston. With a deep commitment to sharing his love for music, Gabriel strives to create an inspiring and supportive learning environment for his students.
With over four years of experience teaching private guitar lessons to students of all ages and skill levels, Gabriel tailors his approach to meet each student’s unique goals and interests, whether they are beginners or advanced players. Gabriel began his musical journey at the Public Conservatory of São Paulo, graduating at 19 before moving to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music. He earned his degree in Guitar Performance in 2023 and completed his Master’s in Global Jazz at Berklee in 2024, where he was mentored by renowned artists such as John Patitucci, Danilo Pérez, Brian Blade, and Joe Lovano.
In addition to his expertise in jazz, blues, and Brazilian music, Gabriel has performed and recorded in various genres, including pop, R&B, folk and rock. He has had the privilege of working with celebrated musicians like Débora Gurgel, Miguel Zenón, Brian Blade, Vanessa Moreno, Danilo Pérez, and Vitor Alcântara. Gabriel’s dedication to both his craft and his students makes him not just a musician, but a passionate advocate for music education.
